The administrative decision to operate shall be based on National Weather Service and local city reports.
If Dickinson Public Transit closes due to weather it will be announced on local radio, TV stations, and our Facebook page.
Based on the time of day, the priority pickup will be as follows: dialysis appointments, and contractual agreements.
Unfortunately punch cannot be refunded. There are some cases where the card may be transferred to another individual. Please contact our office with any other questions.
There is no expiration date on the cards.
Drivers may arrive up to 15 minutes before or after the scheduled pick up time. Passengers need to be ready prior to the driver arriving. Drivers are allotted 5 minutes to wait for passengers before leaving to pick up the next scheduled passenger.
Transit vehicles are often delayed by the same things that delay other traffic: accidents, weather/road conditions, special events, police activity, missing a signal, or construction.
We do our best to keep on schedule, sometimes we need to take a little longer than expected when assisting a rider.
We're always looking for ways to improve in areas where we do have some control, such as scheduling, maintenance, stop spacing, curb extensions, operator training and traffic signal priority. If you have suggestions for improving our on-time performance, please let us know.
We know it is frustrating being passed by, especially when it's cold or wet outside. If the Dickinson Public Transit vehicle didn't stop for you, it is likely because there is another vehicle scheduled to your ride and is on their way.
We are always taking applications! Check out our Careers page for current open positions!
